3.7 Cable Termination and Cross Connection from the MDF to the DRU and from the DRU to the D

This paragraph explains the following work procedures.
•
Cable Termination and Cross Connection from the MDF to the DRU
•
Cross Connections for Digital Interface (When remotely installing the DRU-23-S3 by the digital interface)
•
Cable Termination and Cross Connection from the DRU-30-A to the Analog PB TEL
•
Cable Termination and Cross Connection from the DRU-23-S3 to the D
term
Note 1:
Provide the necessary cross connection at the MDF by using copper wires of 0.5 mm diameter (24 AWG).
Dual-core twisted wire is used for speech path, and single-core wire is used for control. It is recommended
that wires of different colors be used for trunks, station lines, PFT, etc., so that they can easily be distin-
guished.
Note 2:
DRU-30-A/DRU-30-S3 cannot be remotely installed by means of digital interface.
3.7.1
Cable Termination and Cross Connection from the MDF to the DRU

Check terminal locations on the
NEAX2400 IMS side of the MDF

While referring to Figure 3-20, run the cables between the
CHAMP0 Connector Cable of DRU and the MDF.
Protect the cables using cable ducts, etc.
Terminate the installed cables to the CHAMP0 Connector Ca-
ble and MDF.
While referring to Figures 3-21 through 3-23, identify the lead
names of the DLI/2DLI card and the terminal locations of the
lead.
While referring to Figure 3-20, provide the necessary cross con-
nections at the DRU side and NEAX2400 IMS side.
Connect the Champ Connector cables (25P) to the CHAMP Connector of the DRU. When making this con-
nection, pass the CHAMP Connector Cables through the cable hole located at the bottom of the DRU.
