CHAPTER 7 CONNECTING TARGET SYSTEM
68
(2) Connect the external sense clip to the target system
The IE-784000-R can trace the bus cycle of the emulation CPU real-time. Eight external sense clips are available
for evaluating the five types of functions listed below. For details on how to use the external sense clips, refer
to the User’s Manual for the ID78K/IV Integrated Debugger.
<1> External sense function to trace any eight signal lines real-time
<2> External data detection condition
<3> External data condition of bus event detection
<4> External data condition of program execution event condition
<5> External trigger output function
Cautions 1. Connect the external sense clip to a signal line of TTL or CMOS level. If the external
sense clip is connected to any other signal line, the signal level cannot be accurately
detected. Moreover, the sensor of the IE-784000-R may be damaged depending on the
voltage level.
2. Usually, the eight external sense clips are used as input signal lines. However, external
sense clip 1 can be used to output a trigger signal to an external system when an event
occurs if so set by using an external trigger output function (for details, refer to the
User’s Manual for the ID78K/IV Integrated Debugger). To use external sense clip 1 as
an output signal line, do not connect it to a line that outputs a signal of the target
system.
3. To connect the external sense clip, use an IC clip.
