(5) Turn on power
Turn on power in the sequence described below. Turn off power in the reverse sequence. Usually, turn
power on/off in the described sequence.

Procedure
– Power-on sequence
<1> Turn on the power switch of the host machine.
<2> Turn on the power switch of the IE-784000-R.
<3> Start Windows and then the integrated debugger. For details on how to start the debugger,
refer to the User’s Manual for ID78K/IV Integrated Debugger.
Caution If communication with the IE-784000-R cannot be established after the inte-
grated debugger has been started, check the following points:
<1> Is the cable between the IE-784000-R and IE-70000-98N-IF connected cor-
rectly?
<2> Is the connecting cable between the IE-70000-98N-IF and host machine
connected correctly?
<3> Is the setting of the integrated debugger for the IE-70000-98N-IF?
<4> Is the jumper on the emulation board or supervisor board set as described in
APPENDIX C JUMPER SETTING?
<5> Are the break board, emulation board, I/O emulation board, and connector
board correctly mounted to specified positions?
<6> If the target system is connected, be sure that the RESET pin of the target
device is not fixed to the low level.
If the IE-784000-R still cannot be started, consult NEC.
– Power-off sequence
<1> Turn off the power switch of the IE-784000-R.
<2> Turn off the power switch of the host machine.
