3-10 Option Installation

Carefully rock the DIMM to pull it from the socket.

Store the DIMM in an antistatic bag (available at electronic supply stores) or a
cardboard box.

DIMM Installation

Use the following procedure to install a DIMM.

Remove the access cover.

Locate the DIMM sockets.

Remove any currently-installed DIMMs that are not needed. See “DIMM
Removal” in this chapter.

CAUTION:

Before installing a DIMM,

reduce static discharge by touching the system’s
metal chassis.
