echo - Echo Characters Received from Serial Port
Type:
Serial Port function
Syntax:
ec
ho [bool]
<CR>
Purpose:
You
use
echo
when a terminal is connected to the
GPIB-232CT and you wish to display what you type on the
screen of the terminal.
Remarks:
If the argument
bool
is 1, characters received from the serial
port are echoed back to the serial port. If the argument
bool
is 0, characters are not echoed. If the argument
bool
is 1 and
echoing was previously disabled, characters will not be
echoed until this command has been completely processed,
that is, the
next
programming message will be echoed.
If you call
echo
without an argument, the GPIB-232CT
returns the current setting.
Examples:
The following examples show commands as you would enter them at a
terminal.

echo 1<CR>
'Turn on character echoing.

ECHO 0<CR>
'Disable character echoing.
