The GPIB-232CT records this error when a character is
received whose stop bits are not in the expected place.
This can happen when the number-of-bits-per-character
setting of the GPIB-232CT does not match your serial
device. It can also happen if the baud rates of the
GPIB-232CT and your serial device do not match, or if
one side of the serial link does not use parity and the
other side does.
