Commands sent to a missing module return an error response, but the
FP-20
xx
stores the commands and applies the effects of these commands
if a suitable replacement module is inserted.
When a new I/O module is connected in place of one that was removed, the
FP-20
xx
first verifies that the replacement I/O module is compatible with
the one that was removed. If the I/O module is the same as, or is compatible
with, the one removed, the FP-20
xx
configures the replacement I/O module
with its predecessor’s configuration and output value settings.
Table 4-1 shows how modules are configured after HotPnP replacement.
LED Indicators
The FP-20
xx
has several LEDs to convey status information.
POWER LED
The green
POWER
LED is lit while the FP-20
xx
is powered up. This LED
indicates that the power supply connected to the FP-20
xx
is acceptable, and
that the FP-20
xx
is supplying power to the I/O modules.
STATUS LED
The red
STATUS
LED is off in normal operation mode. The FP-20
xx
indicates specific error conditions by flashing
STATUS
a specific number
of times. Refer to the
section of
Table 4-1.
