2.3 mobile home (U.S. only)
!
WARNING
• Do not install in a sleeping room.
• The structural integrity of the mobile home floor, walls, and ceiling/roof must be maintained.
• The appliance must be provided with outside combustion air.
• The appliance must be bolted to the floor.
• Install according to 24 CFR, part 3280 (HUD).
• Use a chimney certified for wood burning UL 103 S629, type HT (2100°F).
• A chimney shall comply with the Standard for Factory-Built Chimneys for Residential Type and Building Heating
Appliances, UL 103.
• The chimney shall be attached directly to the room heater and shall extend at least 3 feet (0.9m) above the part
of the roof through which is passes. The top of the chimney is to be at least 2 feet (0.6m) above the highest
required elevation of any part of the mobile home within 10 feet (3m) of the chimney.
• All roof-chimney terminations shall be able to be readily removed at or below an elevation of 13 1/2 feet (4.1m)
above ground level and reinstalled without the use of special tools or instructions. The chimney assembly shall
be provided with a mechanical means to secure the chimney to the ceiling support box.
• When the chimney exits the mobile home at a location other than through the roof, and exits at a point 7 feet
(2.1m) or less above the ground level on which the mobile home is positioned, a guard or method of enclosing
the chimney shall be provided at the point of exit for a height up to 7 feet (2.1m). The openings in a chimney
guard shall not permit the entrance of a 3/4” (19.1mm) diameter rod and/or contact with the chimney by a 1/2”
(12.7mm) diameter rod inserted through the opening a distance of 4” (102mm).
• The chimney shall be provided with a spark arrester secured to the chimney. The net free area of the arrester
above the chimney outlet shall be not less than four times the net area of the chimney outlet, and the vertical
height of the arrester above the chimney outlet shall be not less than one-half the diameter of the chimney flue.
Openings shall not permit the passage of a sphere having a diameter larger than 1/2” (12.7mm) and shall permit
the passage of a sphere having a diameter of 3/8” (9.6mm).

The appliance must be installed between ceiling joists,
with radiation shield and roof flashing, so that the structural
strength, insulation and waterproof qualities of the home are
not lessened. Seal with silicone to maintain a vapour barrier
at the chimney and outside air pipe penetrations.
This model is equipped with holes so that the appliance can
be bolted securely to the floor.
All mobile home approved appliances must be secured to
the floor of the mobile home.
