8. MAINTENANCE
8-1-2 Compressor maintenance/overhaul
- To be conducted by a technician only -

To protect the service staff and other people from an electric shock, accident and
injury, always turn off the power switch on the Compressor Assy before conduct-
ing the described task.
z
Some parts of the compressor remain hot even after the power switch is turned
off. When conducting maintenance of the compressor or nearby parts, wait for at
least one hour after stopping the compressor operation and make sure that the
compressor is sufficiently cool.
z
If maintenance/overhaul is not conducted as specified, the service life of
the compressor shortens significantly. Be sure to conduct maintenance/
overhaul based on the cumulative hours of power supply to the com-
pressor.
z
If maintenance/overhaul cannot be conducted for an unavoidable rea-
son, operate the machine with the power switch of the Compressor Assy
turned off.
z
If the machine has been stored for a long period of time in a warehouse,
conduct maintenance/overhaul according to the length of storage period
by referring to the table below.
z
After conducting compressor maintenance/overhaul, be sure to re-
set the compressor timer. (See “7-4-8 (a) COMPRESSOR TIMER.”)

(2) Checking the Compressor Assy for abnormal sound and vibration.
(3) Inspection of the filter regulator pressure setting.

(4) Confirmation of startup and stopping of the Compressor Assy.
(5) Inspection of the compressor filter.
(6) Inspection of the Y-type strainer
(7) Inspection of the drainage solenoid valve
(8) Inspection of the filter regulator element
Every 2,000 hours of power supply
(5.5 months when operated 12 hours per day)
(9) Overhaul
Every 8,000 hours of power supply
(22 months when operated 12 hours per day)
