Close the straps of the knee orthoses in the following order (Figure 3.1.4). The straps should be tight,
but not too tight that it causes discomfort.
a.
Proximal shank strap. The strap should sit right above the calf muscle.
b.
Distal thigh strap. The strap sits right above the knee. Make sure there is not too much pressure
on the hamstring tendons in the back of the knee.
c.
Distal shank strap. This strap should sit slightly below the calf muscle.
d.
Proximal shank strap. This strap sits around the middle of the thigh.

(Optional) Tighten the hip ligaments.

The Myosuit should sit comfortably for the user. As a final check, ask the user if there are any straps that
feel uncomfortable (Figure 3.1.4). The shoulder straps should sit comfortable and not apply much
pressure to the user’s shoulders.
9.
(Optional) attach the ankle ligaments to the user’s shoelaces if they are needed by the user. (Figure 3.1.5).
If the ankle ligaments are not used, make sure they are securely
attached to the shank frame of the knee orthoses.
