1410/1412 Switching Modules
The models 1410/12 are high-level Switching Modules. Having a non-directional signal path, they can be
used to switch either the 2-Channel inputs or the 2-Channel outputs of up to eight components. Like all
other Matrix System Switching Modules, a 1410/12 can also be used in conjunction with other Modules
when a component requires switching more than one high-level 2-Channel signal.
Out-of-phase cone vibrations can occur in Speakers that have not been selected, especially if they are in the
same enclosure. To prevent this, MTi provides a set of jumper positions on the 1410/12. When the jumpers
are installed, the coils of non-selected Speakers are shorted and the cone movement is inhibited. When a
1410/12 is used to switch other components, the jumpers should be left off. (Modules are shipped with
jumpers installed.)
If you have a display that was built by MTi, the high-level connectors on your 1410/1412 Switching
Modules have MTA connectors instead of screw terminals. All functions are identical.
