Servicing
WARNING!

Only clean or service the device if the
motor is stationary and also the cutting
tool.

Always remove the power pack prior to
working on the device.
¾
Repair and service work as well as the
replacement of safety elements must
be performed by a qualified expert or
workshop.

Wear safety gloves before any work on
the chain.
Î
Always check the chain tension before each use
and check it regularly when using the chainsaw for
long periods.
Î
Regularly check the chain oil level.
Î
Arrange for the chain to be sharpened regularly by
a service centre.
Î
Once yearly, arrange for the tool to be inspected
and serviced by a service centre.
Cleaning
Î
After each use, clean the tool with a dry cloth or,
in the event of heavy soiling, with a brush, paying
particular attention to the ventilation slots.
Î
Carefully clean the chain
after each use.
Î
Regularly clean the oil guidance groove (chain
running groove) on the bar using a soft brush.
Î
After use, spray the chain with conditioning oil to
ensure a long service life. Where possible, use an
environmentally friendly lubricant.
Attention!
Never spray the device with water or a pressure
washer.
Transport and storage
WARNING!
Risk of injuries due to the cutting tool.

Before transport or storage, switch off
the device and wait until the cutting tool
comes to a standstill.
¾
Remove the power pack before transport
or storage and fit the protective cover.
Storage
Î
Perform cleaning and servicing work before
storage.
Î
Store the tool in a dry location out of the reach of
children.
Î
When storing, ensure that no chain lubricating oil
can run out.
Î
Place the tool in an as horizontal as possible posi
-
tion with the oil tank closure facing upwards.
Î
If storing for longer periods (4 weeks or more), re
-
move the chain lubricating oil, to prevent gumming
up of the lube oil pump.
Î
Store the power pack and tool separately.
Î
Store the power pack in a cool and dry loca
-
tion. Recommended storage temperature ap
-
prox. 18 °C.
Î
Keep the tool and especially its plastic compo
-
nents away from brake fluids, petrol, mineral oil
containing products, penetrating oils etc. They
contain chemical substances that can damage, at
-
tack or destroy the plastic components of the tool.
Î
Fertilizers and other garden chemicals contain
substances that may have a highly corrosive effect
on the metal parts of the tool. Therefore do not
store your tool near to these substances.
