Donning the MSA AUER SAR 30 L
The donning is simple. It is described and illustrated
subsequently. A pictogram on the container is usable
as short instructions.
Open container (Fig. 1)
Lift red lever, pull off latch, remove container cover.
Pull apparatus out of container (Fig. 2)
Grasp neck strap, pull lower container down.
Don apparatus (Fig. 3)
Put on neck strap and pull mask over head (this
triggers the starter), lift mask briefly off face, inhale
deeply, press mask against face, exhale into mask
and apparatus (at temperatures below 0° C repeat
this until breathing bag is filled entirely).
WARNING!
Also during exhalation the mask must fit tightly.
Bearded persons risk that the mask to face seal is
not tight. Users of corrective eyewear shall use the
mask mounted spectacles SAR 30 in order to
achieve tight mask fit and good vision.
Don mask tightly (Fig. 4)
Pull mask harness tight (start with lower straps),
continue to breathe calmly. Check mask to face seal
in both exhalation
and
inhalation phases by
scrunching the breathing tube under the mask.
OBSERVE!
Apparatus temperatures below 0°C cause a rela-
tively stiff mask. This may lead to a loss of breathing
air across the mask to face sealing line before the
mask is properly donned. The repeated exhalation
into the apparatus according to Fig. 3 makes sure
that the breathing bag is filled entirely. In addition,
the mask is warming-up providing the required mask
to face seal when the mask harness is pulled tight.
Tighten neck strap (Fig. 5)
Pull neck strap on both sides.
Close waist belt (Fig. 6)
Grasp both waist belt ends, close buckle, pull tight.
Note!
The mask lenses are covered with fog proof foils. At
temperatures below 0 °C they can fog up from out-
side. This effect is eliminated and free vision is re-
stored lastingly by briefly covering the lenses with the
hands right after donning the mask.
