4.6 Donning the Facepiece
•
Don facepiece and check facepiece-to-face fit
(palm test) (see Instruction Manual of
facepiece)
•
Open cylinder valve(s)
•
Connect lung governed demand valve to mask
(see Instruction Manual of lung governed de-
mand valve)
•
The AirMaXX is ready for use
4.7 During Use
•
From time to time check tight fit of mask and
lung governed demand valve and retighten if
necessary, as well as the air supply on the
pressure gauge, resp. the ICU
•
Leave area immediately if warning signal
sounds
Independent from the warning signal, an earlier
retreat may be required; the retreat start is based
on the reading of the pressure gauge, resp. the
ICU.
4.8 Use of the Second Connection
•
Remove plug from medium pressure coupling
of Second Connection at shoulder strap
•
Connect medium pressure line of lung gov-
erned demand valve of second user
Attention: When rescuing persons with
the rescue set with the Second Connec-
tion, the increased air consumption
from the person being rescued will
shorten the service time.
4.9 Filling with Quick-Fill

With the Quick-Fill, the compressed air cylinders of
the AirMaXX can be filled during use without inter-
rupting the air supply (see Instruction Manual of
Quick-Fill)
4.10 Removing the AirMaXX
•
Remove lung governed demand valve, resp.
mask
•
Close cylinder valve(s)
•
Activate flushing mode of lung governed de-
mand valve, releasing all air
•
Open hip belt
•
Extend shoulder straps by lifting the slides
•
Remove the AirMaXX
Do not throw the AirMaXX, handle with
care
4.11 Removing the Compressed Air
Cylinders

Put AirMaXX in a horizontal position with the
outside up
Hinge up tension clamp at cylinder strap and, if
necessary, loosen the Velcro connection and
by pulling the bracket, loosen the tensioning
and loosen the strap.
When exchanging compressed air cylinders of
the same diameter, only the tension clamp
must be opened.
•
Unscrew cylinder valve(s) from pressure re-
ducer (T-Piece)
•
Lift compressed air cylinder(s) at valve and pull
out of cylinder strap
•
Close high pressure connections with protec-
tive caps
