JUICE EXTRACTION
CAUTION! Remove hard and large stones from peaches and cherries.
CAUTION! Do not slice vegetables and fruits thin or dice them into small pieces. Too small/large chunks will
make them harder to juice.
1.
Place the appliance on a smooth, stable and level surface. Before plugging in the power
cord, make sure that the appliance is off (
OFF
REV
ON
).
2.
Thoroughly wash the vegetables and fruits to be juiced. Cut them into smaller pieces if
necessary (do not slice thin or dice into small pieces) so that they easily fit in the feeder
tube mouth (16).
3.
Place the juice pitcher and the pulp container (4) under the juice spout and pulp discharge
chute of the filter bowl (5). Remove the plug from the juice spout (12). Release the 80 mm
feeder tube mouth lock (15) so that the flap is lifted and allow feeding the vegetables/
fruits.
4.
Turn on the Slow Juicer with the switch (2).
5.
Depending on their shape and size, feed the vegetables/fruits piece by piece into the
mouth (16) and push them down with the flap. If the pieces are small, use the feeder tube
mouth (17) and the pusher (7).
6.
Monitor the pulp and juice levels (4). If you need to empty the juice pitcher and/or the pulp
container, turn off the appliance with the switch (2) and plug the juice spout (12).
7.
If the products are too hard to process, the appliance may stall and stop. Stalling may be
caused by too large vegetable/fruit chunks. This happens most often with hard vegeta-
bles/fruits. Resolve the problem by operating the Reverse switch position (2). The Slow
Juicer will start turning in reverse to release the motor. If stalling persists, disassemble the
appliance, clean it, and reassemble (see Section “Assembling the juicer”).
8.
If you want to make a different juice without interrupting, you can flush the food contact
parts without disassembling them. Flushing the appliance:
–
Place the power and control switch (2) to
OFF
REV
ON
and unplug the appliance from the mains.
–
Plug the juice spout (12).
–
Place the juice pitcher and the pulp container under the respective spout (12) and chute (13).
–
Pour approximately 200 ml of clean cold water into the feeder tube mouth (17). DO NOT
spill the water on the appliance housing (if this happens, thoroughly dry the appliance).
–
Plug in and turn on the appliance for approximately 30 seconds.
–
Unplug the juice spout (12) and wait for all water to come out with the pulp and juice residues.
–
Repeat flushing until clean.
CAUTION! Do not unlock the feeder chamber (6) when the Slow Juicer is running! The safety lock of the feeder
chamber will stop the motor when disengaged. Do not plug the juice spout (12) when extracting juice from
foaming products (e.g. apples or celery). Be careful when extracting with the juice spout plugged. If there is
too much juice in the filter bowl (5), it may spill.
