Choosing the Proper Operation Mode 

In this chapter, we describe the various NPort 5200 operation modes. The options include “Driver 
Mode,” which uses a driver installed on the host computer, and operation modes that rely on 
TCP/IP socket programming concepts. After reading this chapter, choose the operation mode most 
suitable for your application, and then refer to Chapter 5 for detailed instructions on how to 
configure the operation mode’s parameters.
