Chapter 4: TETRA Explorer Application
Introduction
This chapter describes the features of the TETRA Explorer
for a MTC100 TETRA PDA.
The TETRA Explorer application user interface relies on the
Windows Mobile 5 shell functions, particularly notification
API, in order to display a TETRA Explorer icon in the Pro-
gram title bar. This allows the program to stay on top of every
other application and be available for immediate activation.
The Windows Mobile 5 version requires the standard Win-
dows shell to be present.
The TETRA Explorer application provides the user with full
control of the built-in TETRA Modem (TOM100). The TETRA
Explorer application sends and receives AT commands over
virtual or physical serial connections.
The TETRA Explorer application will prompt a user on critical
operating conditions (such as failure to open the communica-
tion port, power-off disable at key distribution, no service,
card out, card test failed) by means of pertinent icon or notifi-
cation balloon.
The current TETRA Explorer application offers an English
language.
Functionality
The TETRA Explorer application provides the following
functions:
• Display of TETRA Signal Reception and Status
Information in the System Tray (for example, signal
strength, no service).
• Dial-up Network Establishment and Disconnection
(TETRA Modem TOM100) Point-to-Point connection.
