Possible Post-Installation Steps
These are some possible post-installation steps that you may or may not need to complete.
Motorola recommends that you read all of them to see if they apply to your enterprise.
•
If you intend to use the Domain user instead of the SQL authentication user on the MSP
Services server, you will need to change the SQL connection string in
both
WebConnectionStrings.config and CommonConnectionStrings.config. You will need a
Motorola provided tool to do this.
If you want complete use of Windows authentication, you also must change the
connection string used by the Motorola MSP Cube stored in the Analysis databases. To
do this, use SQL Server Management Studio to connect to Analysis Services; go to
Databases > Motorola MSP Cube > Data Sources
. Select
Properties
on the MSP Data
component, and the Properties dialog box is displayed. Change the connection string
details to logon using Windows authentication and click OK . This step is only required if
you want the MSP Cube to connect to the Database Service using only Windows
authentication.
Important:
The Domain user needs to be granted logon permissions to the SQL instance and mapped to the
msp_role of the MSP database.

If SQL Server has
never
been installed on the MSP Services server, you may not have
all the necessary SQL assemblies required for correct operation. There is a patch
available; ask your MSP support contact for this patch.
