Section 2G: Using the Phone’s Tools
Software Compatibility
Your phone sends location information to your laptop or
other device using the standard National Marine Electronics
Association (NMEA) format. Your phone supports output
messages in NMEA-0183 format and supports the following
NMEA-0183 sentences: GGA, GLL, GSA, GSV, RMC, and VTG.
The map software running on your laptop or other device
must support NMEA 3.0.
To connect your phone to your laptop or other device:
1.
Open the flap covering the accessory connector by
pulling the tab at the back of your phone.
2.
Plug the other end of the charger into the accessory
connector.
3.
Insert the data plug into the COM port of your laptop or
other device.
Make sure no other application is using the COM port
selected.
Make sure the COM port settings of your laptop or other
device are set to the following:

Bits per second: 4800

Data bits: 8
