Passive regeneration
It is a natural and continuous cleaning process.
Occurs during normal engine operating condition.
Passive regeneration does not affect the operation of the machine
and does not require the involvement of the operator (250-500 °C).

Passive assisted regeneration
Passive regeneration is induced by intervening on the air in
-
take throttle (ETB) to increase exhaust gas temperatures (EGT)
without impacting productivity and consumption (250-500 °C)
By acting on the intake throttle, the combustion air decreases
and the exhaust gas temperatures increase without increasing
the fuel consumption.

Active regeneration process
Cleaning with active regeneration occurs only when passive regen-
eration is not possible based on temperature, load and speed.
Requires post-injection fuel, thus raising exhaust temperatures to
clean the filter.
Used as a backup process (500-650 °C).
After fuel injection, exhaust temperatures and fuel consumption
increase.
The higher temperature requires precautions to be taken to make
the operation safe.

Forced regeneration process
If the passive and active regeneration attempts have failed and, as
a result, the exhaust gas back pressure has become excessive, the
machine switches to "limp mode".
A forced regeneration performed by the operator is therefore re-
quired.
Oil and fuel consumption increase and work must be stopped.

Service regeneration process
This operation must be performed by Technical Support with a
service tool.
At the end of the service regeneration, it is necessary to change the
engine oil and engine oil filter.
