Press down the two snap locks at the top of the cover
plate, fold down the cover plate, then remove it.

2) Insert eight 1.5 V batteries of size D into the battery

compartment (18). Observe the correct position of
the positive and negative poles (

imprint in the

compartment).

Note:

The fabric ribbon in the compartment will
facilitate the removal of the batteries. When
inserting the batteries, make sure that the
ribbon is underneath at least one of the bat-
teries and that the end of the ribbon is out-
side the compartment. This will make it easy
to remove the batteries later by pulling the
end of the ribbon.

3) Replace the cover plate and engage the snap

locks.

5.2 Audio connections

1) When using a cable microphone instead of the

wireless microphone, connect this microphone to
the 6.3 mm mono jack MIC1 (2). (Once the micro-
phone has been connected to this jack, the wireless
microphone will be muted.)

2) If a cable microphone is to be used in addition,

connect it to the 6.3 mm mono jack MIC2 (6).

3) The 6.3 mm mono jack AUX (8) allows connection of

an audio unit with line output level (e. g. cassette
recorder, radio recorder, portable CD player). Co n -
nect the output of the unit to the jack AUX. (For a
stereo output, use a mono stereo adapter, otherwise
only the left stereo channel will be reproduced.)

4) Via the output REC. OUT (10), the audio signal can

be passed on to an audio recorder or another
amplifier. Connect the 6.3 mm mono jack REC.
OUT to a line input on the unit.

5.3 Power supply of the wireless microphone

1) Unscrew the screw cap (24).

2) Insert two (rechargeable) batteries of size AA into

the battery compartment (23). Observe the correct
position of the negative and positive poles (

fig. 3).

3) After the channel adjustment (

chapter 6, item 2),

screw on the cap again.

6

Operation

Prior to switching on the active speaker system, set
the volume controls (4, 7, and 9) to minimum and set
the tone controls (11) to mid-position.

1) Switch on the active speaker system with the

POWER switch (1). The red power LED ON (3) will
light up.

2) For operation with the wireless microphone, adjust

the radio transmission channel:

a Before switching on the wireless microphone,

use the channel selector switch (12) on the
active speaker system to adjust the channel. For
turning, use the adjusting key (26) of the micro-
phone. If the green LED RF ON (5) lights up after
channel selection, interference signals or signals
of other radio transmitters are received. In this
case, adjust a different channel.

b Use the adjusting key to set the channel selector

switch (25) on the wireless microphone to the
same channel adjusted on the active speaker
system.

3) Switch on all audio sources used:

To switch on the wireless microphone, set the

switch (27) to ON. The LED BATT (28) will shortly
show red. If it lights continuously during operation,
the inserted batteries are almost exhausted. After
switching on the wireless microphone, the green
LED RF ON (5) on the active speaker system will
light up to indicate reception of a radio signal.

4) Mix the signals of the audio sources with the corre-

sponding volume controls or fade them in and out
as desired:

control MIC1/W MIC (4)

for the wireless microphone or a microphone
connected to the jack MIC1 (2) [once a micro-
phone has been connected to the jack MIC1, the
wireless microphone will be muted]

control MIC2 (7)

for a microphone connected to the jack MIC2 (6)

control AUX (9)

for a unit connected to the jack AUX (8)

5) Adjust the desired sound with the tone controls (11)

[BASS control and TREBLE control]. With a tone
control in mid-position, the corresponding fre-
quency range will not be affected.

In case of howling during microphone operation,

turn back the TREBLE control first. If the howling
continues, turn back the volume control of the cor-
responding microphone accordingly.

6) If the reception of the wireless microphone is poor

or disturbed, check

– if the reception is better on a different transmis-

sion channel.

Note:

A change of the channel adjustment

during operation will not affect the wireless
microphone. Therefore, shortly switch off the
microphone each time a different channel has
been adjusted, then switch it on again.

– if the (rechargeable) batteries of the microphone

are exhausted or, if the active speaker system is
operated by batteries, these batteries are ex

-

hausted.

CAUTION

Never adjust a very high volume. Per-
manent high volumes may damage
your hearing! The human ear will get
accustomed to high volumes which do
not seem to be that high after some
time. Therefore, do not further increase
a high volume after getting used to it.
