5.7 Playing the first title
of each CD in the magazine
Press the button RANDOM [RDM]* (14) twice.
However, when the random replay is activated
(indication RANDOM, also see chapter 5.6),
press the button only once. The display shows
RANDOM and DISC. The unit changes to a CD
selected at random and replays the first title.
Then it changes to another CD selected at ran-
dom and replays its first title, etc.
To stop this replay function, press the button
RANDOM or CLEAR (4). The function is also
deactivated when actuating the button REPEAT
[RPT]* (15) or INTRO [SCN]* (16).
5.8 Shortly playing the beginning
of each title of a CD
To shortly replay the beginning of each title of
the CD currently playing for 10 seconds only,
press the button INTRO [SCN]* (16). The display
shows INTRO (h). To stop the replay of the
beginning of each title, press the button
(8).
The function is also deactivated when actuating
the button RANDOM [RDM]* (14) or REPEAT
[RPT]* (15) and when selecting another title or
CD.
5.9 Compiling an individual
title sequence
For only playing selected titles in a certain order,
a sequence of 24 titles as a maximum may be
programmed from a CD.
5.9.1 Memorizing and
playing a title sequence
1) First set the unit to stop with the button
(10).
The display shows the number of titles and
the playing time of the last CD replayed.
2) Use the button
or
(7) to change to the
CD from which the title sequence is to be
compiled.
3) Press the button PROGRAM (3). The display
shows the indication PROGRAM, the number
of the CD selected and the first memory loca-
tion:

The programming can be stopped at any time
with the button
(10).
4) Select the first title of the title sequence with
the button
(9). The display shows the title
number selected (e. g. “T03”).
5) To confirm the title selection, press the button
PROGRAM. The next memory location “P-02”
is shown.
6) Repeat the steps 4 and 5 until all titles of the
title sequence are memorized. After 24 titles
have been memorized, the display shows
“P-25 T – –”. Then no further title can be
selected.
7) To replay the title sequence, press the button
(8). The title sequence is repeatedly
replayed without interruption.
Note:
While playing a programmed title sequence,
the buttons RANDOM [RDM]* (14), INTRO [SCN]*
(16) and
and
(7) have no function.
5.9.2 Changing or
completing a title sequence
1) Set the unit to stop with the button
.
2) When pressing the button PROGRAM, the
memory locations (P- 01 … P- 24) can be
selected successively. Press the button
PROGRAM repeatedly until the memory
location is shown on which another title is to
be memorized. Select the new title number
with the button
or
and confirm with
the button PROGRAM. Repeat the procedure
for further memory locations, if required.
3) If less than 24 titles have been programmed
up to this moment, the title sequence can be
completed with further titles. For this pur-
pose, press the button PROGRAM repeat-
edly until the next free memory location is
shown (e. g. “P- 19 T – –”). Select the next
desired title with the button
and press the
button PROGRAM to confirm. To complete
further titles, repeat the procedure.
4) To replay the title sequence changed, press
the button
.
5.9.3 Deleting the title sequence
Normal replay mode
To return from the replay of a title sequence to
the normal replay mode, the programmed title
sequence must be deleted.
1) Set the unit to stop with the button
.
2) Press the button CLEAR (4). The indication
PROGRAM disappears from the display.
3) With the button
the replay can now be
started in normal order.
6 PC Control of the Unit via the
RS-232 Interface
The PA-2460CD can be controlled with a corre-
sponding terminal programme from a PC. Con-
nect the jack RS-232C IN (31) to the RS-232
interface of the computer. Adjust the following
parameters in the terminal programme:

7 Maintenance of the Unit
Protect the unit against dust, vibrations, humid-
ity, and heat (admissible ambient temperature
range 0 – 40 °C). For cleaning only use a soft,
dry cloth, never use water or chemicals.
Note on sound interruptions and reading
errors
Cigarette smoke and dust easily penetrate
through all openings of the unit and settle on the
optics of the laser system. If this deposit should
cause reading errors and sound interruptions,
the unit must be cleaned by skilled personnel.
There is a charge on this cleaning, even during
the warranty time!
