-Ensure you feel comfortable and secure in
the seat before turning on the Boma!
Only transfer on firm level surfaces.
Turning your Boma ON & OFF
Your Boma has been specifically designed to
make it as easy for you to use and enjoy as
possible.
To turn the Boma ON;
Locate the control box. Switch the power
switch to ‘on’. Wait for a few seconds for the
Boma to power up (lights will flash for 5
seconds - the Boma is ready when the lights on
the control box go to a steady state).
To turn the Boma OFF;
Locate the control box. Switch the power
switch to ‘off’.
For long periods of storage we recommended you
remove the plugs from the batteries and store the
batteries inside.
Using the Brakes
The Boma has a powerful electric motor
complete with a fail-safe braking system. The
Boma comes to a stop when you release the
throttle.
To control your speed on a descent slowly
return the throttle position towards rest.
Brake Release (Manoeuvring)
The Boma is fitted with a brake release lever
located at the rear of the Boma, just in front of
the motor. When operated it releases the fail-
safe electromagnetic brake of the motor.
(Optional Front Brakes)
These are extra cost items fitted at the
customer’s request. They are NOT essential for
normal use.
The front brakes are mechanical drum units
operated by cable. Care should be taken to

It is important that the power is switched
off when you are transferring on and off
the Boma, and when the Boma is not in
use. When the Boma is not in use, do not
attempt to move the Boma with the
power switched on.
! WARNING
Do NOT operate the brake release lever
with a rider in the Boma. This could
result in serious injury as the Boma will
have NO BRAKES.
ONLY operate to manoeuvre the empty
Boma for transport or storage
