The battery status is shown for both batteries and the advanced setting can be used to set the
power off settings.
5.1.1 Power Saving
The best way to extend the life of the batteries is to reduce the power consumption. The backlight
screen can be used effectively to extend battery life. It can be reached from the settings screen.
For vehicle use while navigating using the WayPoint navigation software and external power you
are likely to want maximum brightness level (except at night). But, for battery use consider reducing
these values considerably. Taking advantage of lower brightness and conserving power by having
the backlight turn itself off when not needed can more than double the expected battery life. The
