Opening and Closing the Hood
The collector hood is equipped with a latch pin which
locks the hood in the closed position.
1. On the left side of the unit, remove the lock pin (
B,
Figure 57
) from the hood lock plate (
A
).
The hood can now be opened.
2. Lower the hood into the closed position and place
the lock pin into the hood lock plate.

Check the Condition of the Blower Drive
Belt
1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface.
Disengage the PTO, engage the parking brake,
turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
2. Remove the blower hood (
A,
Figure 58
) and the
top belt guard (
B
).
3. Inspect the belt for damage or wear. Replace
the belt as necessary. See
Blower Drive Belt
Replacement
.
4. Reinstall the blower hood and top belt guard if
replacement is not necessary.
Blower Drive Belt Replacement
1. Park the machine on a flat, level surface.
Disengage the PTO, engage the parking brake,
turn off the ignition and remove the ignition key.
2. Remove the blower hood (

) and the
top belt guard (

).
3. Push on the adjustabler idler pulley belt keep (
A,
Figure 59
) to move the adjustable idler pulley
towards the stationary idler pulley (
B
). Slide the belt
over the edge of the mower deck double pulley (
D,
Figure 60
). Carefully release the tension you are
exerting on the adjustable idler pulley belt keep.

WARNING
Use extreme caution when rotating the idler
arm with the combination wrench, due to the
increased tension in the spring as the idler
arm is being rotated. Injury may result if the
combination wrench is prematurely released
while the spring is under tension.
