4. MAINTENANCE
4.1. Introduction
The EasyCUT maintenance is a simple maintenance that prevents the likelihood of the most serious problems.
Minimum maintenance is required to the laboratory personnel using the EasyCUT. The following procedure is
recommended to ensure optimal performance of EasyCUT.
4.1.1. Monthly: ionizing needle cleaning
This is a first level maintenance required to the laboratory personnel.
Make sure to always turn off the instrument before performing any procedure of
assistance and maintenance and to disconnect the instrument from the power supply.
Pay attention not to touch the ionizing needles as they are sharp.
Never insert objects inside the slots where the ionized air comes out from otherwise the
operation could be jeopardized.
When the product is used for long periods, dust and other foreign particles can deposit on the ionizing needle
and on the area around it. If it happens, clean the needles following the instructions below:
1. Check that the power supply is disconnected.
2. Remove the 4 blocks of ionizing needles from the back of the instrument as shown in the following
pictures:
a. Simultaneously press on the external buttons and remove the block.
3. Use a cotton swab moistened with alcohol and clean every needle and the adjacent area. If needles
are extremely dirty it is possible to use a toothbrush moistened with alcohol and then use a cotton
swab to dry.
It is possible to clean the block with ionizing needles with ultrasound instruments,
provided that they are inserted in the tank one at a time.
4. At the end of the cleaning, insert the block in its housing until you hear a click.
