2 Function
2.1 Heat
Exchanger
In the heat exchanger, the moisture carried by the drying air is removed;
condensate (condensate water) remains.
Drying air is channeled through five flat ducts. Seals separate the flat ducts
from the cooling-air circuit.
Cooling air is channeled between these flat ducts and in this way cools the
drying air. The temperature drop between drying air and cooling air causes
condensate to form, which drips at the front and rear of the heat exchanger
into the water pipe and to the condensate pump.
4 Service
4.1
Condensate Box Removal
1. Disconnect the appliance from the power supply.
2. Take out the heat exchanger.
3. Remove the front panel; see Section 010-4.3.
4. Remove both side panels; see Section 010-4.4.
5. Remove the fan impeller (Section 040-4.3) and drive (Section 040-4.4).
6. Remove the T30 screw securing the condensate box to the rear panel of
the machine (see Figure 060-1, Item 1).
7. Pull the condensate box forward slightly to release it from the rear panel,
then remove it sideways and out of the machine.
