Repairs to electrical appliances
should only be performed by
authorized service technicians in
strict accordance with applicable
local, provincial and national safety
regulations. Repairs by unqualified
persons can cause considerable
danger to users.
What to do if . . .
. . . the appliance does not cool?
^
Check whether the appliance is
switched on. The temperature display
must be illuminated.
^
Check whether the plug is correctly
inserted into the electrical outlet.
^
Check whether the main circuit
breaker has been tripped, or whether
there is a fault in the building's
electrical wiring (voltage), the
fridge/freezer combination or another
appliance.
Contact a qualified electrician or the
Miele Customer Contact Centre.
. . . the temperature in the freezer is
too low?
^
Change the temperature setting to a
warmer value.
^
The SuperFreeze function is still
active, and the indicator light is on.
It will automatically switch off after
approx. 65 hours.
^
Check that the appliance doors are
properly closed.
^
Did you freeze a large amount of
food at the same time?
This makes the compressor run
longer, causing an automatic drop in
temperature in the refrigerator.
. . . the compressor turns on too
often and for too long?
^
Check whether the ventilation
openings are blocked or dusty.
^
Check whether the metal coils (heat
exchanger) on the back of the
appliance are dusty.
^
The doors have been opened too
frequently, or a large amount of fresh
food has been put in at once for
refrigerating or freezing.
^
Check that the doors close properly.
. . . frozen food thaws because it is
too warm in the freezer?
^
Is the room temperature lower than
the ambient temperature for which
the appliance is designed?
If so, increase the room temperature.
If the room temperature is too low, the
compressor will switch on less
frequently. This may cause the freezer
to become too warm.
. . . food has frozen together?
Use a blunt object, e.g. the handle of a
spoon, to pry it apart carefully.
