Once the final core temperature has
been reached
The final core temperature has been
reached when the temperature values
to the left and right of the colon are
identical and flashing, (e.g. 65 °C). The
roast will now be cooked to the degree
required.
An audible tone sounds and the oven
heating switches off automatically.
However, do not turn the programme
selector to "0" immediately, as the roast
should be left to stand for a further 10
minutes in the warm oven. This way the
roast will retain more juices when it is
carved. At the end of the standing time
a second audible tone will sound. The
roast can now be taken out of the oven
and the programme selector turned to
"0".
Note: during standing time the temper-
ature of a thick joint can rise by about
3 °C and by as much as 6 °C for thinner
joints. When setting the final food tem-
perature you may wish to select a
slightly lower temperature to compen-
sate.
