The display will guide you through the whole procedure.
Please follow the instructions to, for example, empty the drip
tray, fill the water container etc.
The
descaling programme cannot be cancelled
once
you have touched the OK sensor. The programme has to
be completed through to the end. This is a safety measure
to ensure that the machine is fully descaled, and is
important for the long-term protection of the machine and
to ensure it functions correctly.

When the message appears in the display asking you
– to add
descaling agent to the water container
, take the
water container out and fill it up to the
k
mark with
lukewarm water. (
Do not use less water than this
because this would cause the descaling programme to
finish before it has been completed properly).
Add 2 descaling tablets (approx. 5 cm diameter, pack of
6) to the water. Allow the tablets to dissolve fully before
shutting the lid and putting the water container back in the
machine.
– to use
the waste container
to collect the waste water, take
it out of the machine and place it under the spout and the
steam valve.
– to take
the capsule plate out and replace it with the
coloured descaling funnel
: open the front of the machine
and pull the capsule plate all the way out; clean it as
described in Cleaning and care.
Put the coloured descaling funnel in its place.
– to
open the valve
: press the steam valve downwards until
it clicks.
