6.1.8 Counter module
If channel mode "Cnt.Day" or "Cnt.Intervl." was activated for universal input 1, the counter module
is run through every 7,8ms and the level is checked on the universal input. As a 3-stage median
filter is used to filter out any signal faults, a minimum pulse length of 20ms is required for the
correct detection of the pulses. The counter module adds the number of rising edges and transfers
this number to the scale module as soon as the time of a measurement is reached.
The following table specifies the relevant parameters for the module:

6.2 Day change
If universal input 1 is operated in Cnt.Day mode, all of the pulses up to the day changing time are
added up. The current meter reading is recorded at the time of every measurement, which provides
a rising gradient in the measurement value graphics on the myDatanet server. As it cannot be
guaranteed that a measurement value is generated at the exact time of the day change, the
following procedure is used to ensure that the highest value of the day is visible in the
measurement value graphic:
At the time of the day change, the current meter reading (highest value of the day) is copied to a
temporary memory and then reset so that the counter module (see "Counter module" on page 34)
can already add up the pulses for the day that is now starting. At the time of the first measurement
after the day change, a check is completed to determine whether the highest value of the day
(= meter reading in the temporary memory) has already been recorded, which means that no further
pulses were detected between the last measurement value that was recorded and the day change. If
this is the case, the current meter reading from the counter module is recorded at the time of the
first measurement after the day change. Otherwise, the highest value of the day is recorded from the
temporary memory at the time of the first measurement after the day change. The meter reading
from the counter module is then recorded again at the time of the second measurement after the
day change.
