58 N2 Dialer Module—N2 Dialer Module (NDM)
This read/write point is used to command the local NDM to dial out to a specific remote
facility and to terminate a connection.
Table 20: ADI-65 Dial Command
Value
Description
-1
A remote site dialed into the local NDM
0
Causes a Disconnect (Hang-up)
1-50
Causes the local NDM to dial the
remote NDM corresponding to the
value as configured in the HVAC PRO
for Windows remote site index*
*
See Table 22: DDL and HVAC PRO for Windows Remote Site Parameters
below.
Commanding the ADI-65 point to a value from 1 to 50 will cause the local NDM to dial
the remote site corresponding to that number. The remote sites are assigned to numbers 1
through 50 in HVAC PRO for Windows. Commanding the point to 0 causes the local
NDM to disconnect the current connection, regardless of whether the local or remote
NDM initiated the call.
When a remote site initiates a call into the local NDM, the ADI-65 dial command point
displays a value of -1.
This read/write point is used to control when the local NDM automatically disconnects
from a remote NDM. On each connection, this point is
reset to 0.

Value
Description

In this case, hang-up must be accomplished by commanding ADI-65 to 0.
The multistate attributes of the CS object provide an easy way to command the local
NDM to initiate a dial-out to a remote facility. The multistate attribute also offers a 6-
character name for each state that helps identify which site is being connected to.
Each CS object has only two multistate attributes. Each of these MS attributes has up to
five states. It is recommended that you map ADI-65 and ADI-66 as multistate CS
attributes, because the units of the multistate attribute aid in identifying the commands
sent to the ADI-65 and ADI-66 points. For example, you could assign units of “Scl-1A”
to State 1 of the multistate attribute. Then, when this attribute is commanded to State 1,
Scl-1A will be displayed as the attribute’s value. You will then know that the local NDM
is connected to the School-1A Elementary remote site.
Here is an example of the MODEL.DDL file for mapping ADI-65 and ADI-66 to CS
object multistate attributes:

MSTITLE "DIAL / DISCONNECT CMD"
CSMS "ADI65", N, Y, "DIAL CMD",\
