24 N2 Dialer Module—N2 Dialer Module (NDM)
The remote dialer has the following features:
•
configurable via dial-up N2 Bus connection
•
detects an alarm condition on N2 Open devices on the remote N2 Bus
•
initiates dial connection to the facility management system N2 Bus
•
can be configured to dial a printer, print Remote Site Name, and hang-up
•
alarm dial in can be disabled to allow monitoring from the local facility only, or to
eliminate nuisance calls from a known problem site
The remote configuration accepts the following parameters and stores them in nonvolatile
memory; i.e., EEPROM.

Idle time-out
1-255 minutes
If the remote NDM and modem have
dialed an (active device) telephone
number, but no N2 traffic is seen for
the Idle time-out, the dialer hangs up
and continues dialing based on the
number of retries selected.
Dial delay
0 to 255 minutes
Number of minutes to delay before
redialing; i.e., a dial delay of 4 means
that the dialer attempts a call every
4 minutes.
Modem connect time
30-255 seconds
Amount of time waited for a
connection to be established before
hanging up and redialing.
Default = 60 seconds.
