• Stay away from the energy storage system, or parts of it, if they have come into contact with water.
• If possible without causing further harm or injury, switch off the energy storage system.
• Contact your sales representative or installation technician.
2.3.4 Contact with water
WARNING
Energy storage systems that come into contact with water or moisture can lead to electric shock.
Do not touch the energy storage module with wet hands.
2.4 Ambient Conditions
The Mercedes-Benz Energy Storage Home has the following installation requirements:
• Must be installed inside a building (not a living space), well-ventilated.
• Contamination level 2 (Only non-conductive contamination is permitted. Occasional, temporary con-
ductivity, which is caused by condensation, can be expected.)
•Max.heightabovesealevel:2,000 m.
• See ‘Technical Data’ for ambient temperatures. [6. Technical Data; S.30]
•Max.relativehumidity:85 %(non-condensing).
• Do not install in areas subject to fire or explosion hazards.
• For wall installation, the wall should be able to bear at least five times the total weight of the ener-
gy storage system and accessories.
• You are only permitted to install the system on walls if they are made of stone or cement.
• For wooden wallboards, it is only possible to install the system upright.
• Always observe the minimum distance to the energy storage system. [1.5 Distances; S.23]
• The living space should be separated from the installation site by a fireproof door. Please observe the
corresponding local guidelines. (Germany: F30-rated fire door)
•There must be a fire-resistant drywall board between the wall and the energy storage modules.
• The energy storage system needs to be protected by a proper barrier if it is installed in areas that
expose it to damage by vehicles.
• We recommend equipping the installation zone with a smoke detector and fire extinguisher (ABC-rated fire ex-
tinguisher or carbon-dioxide fire extinguisher) to permit early detection and extinguishing of any fires breaking
out in the vicinity of the energy storage system.
• Do not install in a corrosive environment or an environment containing harmful gases (salts and ammonia).
• The surrounding building must provide protection against direct lightning strikes.
• Protect from external hazards such as fire, water, tremors, or vibration.
• Protect from extreme environmental conditions such as strong sunlight, high or low temperatures, and
atmospheric pollution.
• Do not install in a high-tide or flood area.
• Protect against vandalism.
• Protect against access by unauthorized persons.
• Do not install close to water pipes or hoses (either exposed or concealed).
• Keep away from steam produced by washing machines, driers, saunas, or similar.
• The system design and installation type need to comply with all local, regional, and national laws and
regulations or those of the relevant authorities.
