When working on your energy storage system, remember that you are working near your household
power supply. Contact with it may result in serious injury or even death.
To prevent this hazard, please observe the following:
• Never open or dismantle the energy storage system.
• Do not introduce foreign objects into the energy storage system.
• Avoid causing any type of mechanical damage.
• Do not touch the energy storage system with wet hands.
• Wires must be correctly attached (maintenance-free and strain-relieved).
• Wires may only be connected or disconnected with the power off (before commissioning or after
decommissioning).
• Do not expose the energy storage system to liquids or direct moisture.
• Always install the energy storage system out of the reach of children and animals.

• Do not expose the energy storage system to jarring impacts or exert pressure on it.
• Never use the energy storage system if you detect cracks, breaks, or other damage.
• Do not use the energy storage system if it is defective or does not operate properly.
• Do not place objects onto the energy storage system.
• To prevent the build-up of heat, never cover the energy storage system, either partially or entirely.
• Always observe the instructions on proper use of the energy storage system.
• Never modify or retrofit the energy storage system.
• Only allow qualified electricians to connect and switch on the energy storage system.
• The energy storage system may only be connected to an inverter approved by Mercedes-Benz Energy.
2.3 Handling Emergencies
WARNING
Immediately contact the fire department or first-aid responders in the event that a hazardous situa-
tion such as fire, escaped electrolyte, electric shock, or similar occurs. Inform others who may also
be in potential danger, and evacuate the area. Once you have taken these measures, observe the
following instructions if the situation allows you to do so without causing further harm or injury.
Keep your personal safety in mind at all times.
