When installing the seat cushion, be
sure both hinges are engaged.
In addition, when transporting
extrem ely long items, push forward
front passenger seat, remove head
restraint and lower backrest to the
rear.
Notes:
It m ust be ensured that
• the cargo cannot endanger driver
and fro n t passenger under hard
braking or in the case of a head-on
collision.
• the heating filam ents of the rear
w indow heater will not be dam­
aged by pieces of luggage rubbing
against them.
Folding Seat Bench
To enlarge the seating area the
folding seat bench can be unfolded.
For this purpose, engage the safety
belts into the brackets provided.
Removing double roller blind (see
page 35).
Pull out the center head restraint of
the rear bench seat by a minimum of
30 mm (11/4 in).
Swing up handle (1) and lift up
backrest. The handle m ust engage
above bracket (2).
Slip fingers into recess (3) and fold
over seat cushion.
Prior to folding back the backrest, lift
handle (1) over bracket (2).
Note:
Head restraints m ust be installed in
the forward-facing rear seat if the
folding seat bench is occupied.
