MAINTENANCE
MAINTENANCE OF THE X-62 GAS LOG INSERT IS REQUIRED ANNUALLY
.
We recommend that the following procedures be performed every year by your Mendota dealer:
1.
Inspect and clean the control valve and burner:
Check the condition of the wiring for melting or damage
from rodents. Clean all foreign matter from around the control valve and the air shutter on the venturi. Use a
brush or wire to clean the inlet of the venturi. Clean foreign matter and carbon deposits from the burner pan
and burner tiles. Check to see that the burner tiles are still porous.
2.
Inspect and clean the pilot:
Clean away any carbon deposits. Check the appearance of the pilot flame.
3.
Inspect the gaskets:
All gaskets must be tight. Replace them, if necessary.
4.
Inspect the exhaust opening and the front vent plate:
Make sure both areas are free from foreign matter
and other obstructions. Never block these openings.
5.
Check the operation of the system:
Cycle the burner on and off according to the procedure listed in
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTION step 17. Reposition the logs and the coals, if necessary.
6.
Inspect the chimney:
Check that chimney flue and outlet are open and free of blockage.
In addition, the homeowner periodically should dust the firescreen. The glass of any accessories may be cleaned
with standard glass cleaner, as needed.
