Throttle lock
The throttle lock is intended to prevent unintentional use
of the throttle. When you press the lock (A) (i.e. when
you grasp the handle) it releases the throttle (B). When
the handle is released, both the throttle and throttle
lock return to their original position. The movement
is controlled by two independent return springs. This
means that the throttle is automatically locked in the
idle setting. Check that the throttle is locked in the idle
setting when the throttle lock is released. Press the
throttle lock and make sure it returns to its original
position when it is released.
Check that the throttle and throttle lock can move freely and that the return springs work properly.
Start the machine and apply full throttle. Release the throttle and check that the blade stops and
remains still. If the blade rotates with the throttle in the idle position then the carburettor idle setting
must be checked.
Cold start
A cold start means the engine is started at least 5 minutes after it has been switched off or after
refuelling.
1.
Set the switch to the ”I” position.
2.
Press the primer button repeatedly until fuel begins to fill the bulb. It does not have
to be completely filled.
3.
Close the choke.
4.
When the throttle lock and throttle are pressed, the lock button for the throttle must be
pressed in at the same time, after which the throttle lock and throttle must be released.
5.
Hold the machine against the ground using your left hand.
NOTE:
Do not use your foot.
Grip the starter handle, pull out the starter cord slowly with your right hand until it begins
to tighten and then pull the cord strongly. Never wind the starter cord around your hand.
Continue pulling the starter cord until the engine starts.
