IMPORTANT:
• Only saw the materials considered to be
suitable in accordance with these
instructions.
• Only use sharp and undamaged blades
that are suitable for the actual material.
• Set the sawing depth in accordance with
the instructions.
• Place the material to be sawn on a flat
surface, such as a workbench, table or
the floor.
• Place a spare piece under the workpiece.
• Draw the required saw line on the
workpiece.
• Secure the workpiece so that it cannot
move during the work.
• Hold the product in a firm grip and place
it with the base plate against the surface
of the workpiece. Check that the back
half of the base plate sticks out outside
the workpiece.
• Never pull back the product.
PLUNGE SAWING
For plunge sawing start sawing inside the
workpiece instead of at the edge of the
workpiece.
NOTE:
It may not be possible to plunge saw in some
hard materials.
• Use a suitable blade for the material that
is to be sawn. Set the sawing depth in
accordance with the instructions. Note the
markings on the base plate for the points
where the blade starts and stops sawing.
NOTE:
The lines on the side of the base plate mark
where the blade starts and stops sawing
when the maximum sawing depth has been
set.
• Firmly secure the workpiece. Place the
base plate on the workpiece. Align the
front V-shaped saw line marking on the
base plate to the saw line.
• Start the product and wait a few seconds
until the blade has reached maximum
speed. Move the blade slowly down into
the material with a smooth but firm
movement. Push the product forward
along the saw line. Never pull back the
product.
• When the marking of the point where the
blade stops sawing reaches the end of the
saw line, lift the product from the
workpiece and switch it off. If a lot of dust
and shavings have accumulated, allow
the product to run a few extra seconds to
expel the dust.
Tips for plunge sawing
Do not let the cuts overlap in the corners if the
hole in the workpiece is going to be visible.
Because the blade is circular the cut out piece
will not come loose. The cuts in the corners
must be finished with a knife, chisel or the
equivalent. If the material is thin and it does
not matter what the back looks like, the piece
can be pressed out.
If it is possible to saw from the back of the
workpiece the saw lines can be marked on the
back with an extra length, whereby the cuts
can made so that the front of the workpiece
has the correct size.
SAWING HARD OR ABRASIVE
MATERIALS
Practice by sawing in wood before sawing
in harder materials. When sawing in harder
materials, such as metal and some plastics,
more pressure is required to hold the
workpiece in place, and if necessary it must be
clamped. Do not saw in materials that emit
toxic fumes or dust, such as fluoroethane
plastic or asbestos.
