Special characteristics of DVD-Video:
• Up to 8 hours of feature films on a single DVD.
• Up to 8 audio tracks and 32 subtitle tracks.
• Greater picture quality than VHS or SVHS.
• Time-frame navigation and picture stills.
• Selection of different camera angles in some media.
• Parental Control , in which certain scenes or an en-
tire film or rating of films can be made accessible only
to certain age groups. DVD players can, for example,
be set so that scenes or films which have not been
approved for younger audiences will not play.
In spite of the high storage capability of the DVD the data
must be extremely compressed in order for a complete fea-
ture film to be stored.
