User manual for medifa 5000 operating table Version 2.1
Figure 9: Trendelenburg/Anti-Trendelenburg position
In this position, the table top is tilted by +/ - 30° over the transverse axis.
The Trendelenburg and anti-Trendelenburg position is triggered by pressing the release handles [1] installed on
the side of the backrest. The lying surface must be raised or lowered in parallel. Locking in the desired position is
achieved by releasing the release handles.
Adjustment range: -30° to +30°
CAUTION
Risk of injury!
Operation with both hands is absolutely necessary for safety reasons, since the operator must exert his/her
own body strength for adjustment, depending on the patient’s body weight!
CAUTION
Patient hazard due to danger of collision!
When the table top is tilted (Trendelenburg/Anti-Trendelenburg position), it may collide with the lifting col-
umn, the floor or other objects which are located under the table top and which are possibly covered by cloths
or documents. To avoid the risk of all movements, monitor the table top continuously. Clear the area under the
table top, move the table top to a higher position or move the corresponding plate segments (leg/back plate
joints) further upwards. Then move to the desired Trendelenburg/Anti-Trendelenburg position. This function
carries a risk of clamping and injury if the Trendelenburg function is approached at the lowest table height.
Then the spars of the plate segments of the upper backrest collide with the base of the medifa 5000.
