Unpack, Inspect, and Install the 1U Server
The management server is a rack-mount unit with SAN management and
Element Manager applications installed.
NOTE:
In order to set the IP address, as well as perform administration tasks on the 1U
Server, you will need access to a keyboard video monitor (KVM) as there is no entry pad
nor display on the 1U Server. (The KVM is not supplied with the 1U Server.) The KVM
can be plugged into keyboard and video connectors on the 1U Server for access. (See for
locations.) Additionally, some cabinets may already contain an installed KVM drawer
which can be used to access the 1U Server.
Unpack, inspect, and install the server.
1. Inspect shipping containers for damage. If a container is damaged, ensure a
freight carrier representative is present when the container is opened.
Unpack shipping containers and inspect each item for damage. Ensure
items correspond to items listed on the bill of materials.
2. If any items are damaged or missing, call the toll-free telephone number
printed on the attached service label.
