7. Installation/Setup
When selecting the installation place for your device, avoid direct sunlight, vibration, dust, hot
and cold temperatures and dampness. Keep the device away from strong transformers or
motors.
When setting up the device with other equipment, provide sufficient ventilation. Keep a
sufficient distance to heat sources. Do not place the CD player directly next to heat sources, e.g.
an amplifier. Do not point any strong spots or light sources towards the device. This may lead
to overheating (risk of fire!).
Heat removal from the device must not be obstructed. Never place the device on soft surfaces
such as a carpet or a bed. Do not cover the ventilation openings of the device. Air circulation
must not be obstructed by objects such as magazines, table cloths, curtains or similar. This
prevents heat removal from the device and can lead to overheating (risk of fire!).
Only operate the CD player on a sturdy surface that is not sensitive to high temperatures.
Make sure you position/install the device safely. Falling devices pose a significant risk of
accident.
Do not drill any additional holes or screw any additional screws into the casing to mount the
device. Hazardous live parts might be exposed.
Make sure that the connection cables are not squeezed or damaged by sharp edges. Always
install the cables so that no-one will trip over them or get caught in them. Risk of injury!
The cables must be of sufficient length. Avoid mechanical strain on the cables. This may
damage the cables or the device. There is the risk of a fatal electric shock.
• The drive unit and the controller of the CD player can be placed on an even surface or mounted on a rack.
• To mount them on a rack, screw them onto the rack rail through the fastening holes on the front plate with 4 screws
each.
• When selecting the installation place, bear in mind that you should be able to easily read the display later.
Due to the great variety of varnishes and polishes of furniture, the device feet might leave visible marks
on the furniture caused by chemical reactions. Therefore, the device should not be placed on valuable
furniture surfaces without suitable protection.
