3.3 Adjustment

Adjusting the Platen Gap

Adjustment Procedure

1. Loosen the two screws holing the paper-feeding platen unit in place.

2. Using a gap gauge, adjust so that the gap is 0.5+/-0.05mm at each of the three locations

indicated in the drawing.

3. Retighten the two screws to a torque of 19.6~24.5 N-cm (2.0 to 2.5 kg-cm).

4. Check the gap again with the gauge. If the gap is outside the range indicated above (0.5+/-

0.05mm), repeat the adjustment from step 1.
