PRE-INSTALLATION & ELECTRICAL SAFETY
•
Always adhere to all national and local electrical codes.
•
To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, only install this UPS in a
temperature and humidity controlled indoor environment, free of corrosive and
conductive contaminants. Keep away from direct sunlight, heat, corrosive
gasses, dust, and water.
•
For UPS with hardwired input, the connection to the branch circuit (mains)
must be performed by a licensed electrician. Always connect the UPS to a
grounded outlet.
•
Strain relief (not included) is required for all input and output hardwiring.
•
All openings that allow access to UPS hardwire terminals must be covered for
safety. Failure to do so may result in personal injury or equipment damage.
•
Leave adequate space around all sides of the UPS and EBB for proper
ventilation.
•
CAUTION: Risk of electric shock.
Condensation may occur if the UPS is
moved directly from a cold to warm environment. The UPS must be
absolutely dry before being installed. Allow an acclimatization time of at least
two hours.
•
A protection circuit breaker must be installed upstream and be easily
accessible. The system can be disconnected from the AC power source by
opening this circuit breaker.
•
Connect the UPS to mains power source that is adequately protected against
excess currents, short circuits, and earth faults as part of the building
installation.
•
The ground conductor must be grounded to earth at the service equipment, or
if supplied by a separately derived system, at the supply transformer or motor
generator set. The UPS input ground conductor must be properly bonded to
protective earth at the service panel.
