Using a 7/16 ” spanner loosen the brass connector 
and remove the broken trap with an appropriate tool 

If the brass connector needs to be removed, to 
access the broken trap, then replace it before 
continuing.  

 

1.  Feed the trap alignment tool through the cold 
trap box to ensure any broken glass is removed. 

2.  Loosen the screw holding the heated valve 
assembly in place and slide forwards again. 

3.  Retighten the 4 screws. 

4.  Reattach the thermocouple and heater 
connectors.
