Configuring the 802.1x Protocol
Configuring the 802.1x Protocol
The
IEEE 802.1X
sub-menu allows you to configure the 802.1x security protocol for the
ME6 IR Dome. 802.1x is a security protocol that authenticates devices after a connection
to a switch, granting or denying them access to the network.
To configure the 802.1x protocol
1 On the
System Settings
page, click the
IEEE 802.1x
tile.
The
IEEE 802.1X
sub-menu appears.
2 Select
On
to enable the 802.1x protocol.
The
Protocol
list appears.
3 Select the type of 802.1x authentication to use from the
Protocol
list. According to
the selected protocol different options appear.
•
To use
MD5
authentication:
a Select
EAP MD5
from the
Protocol
list.
b Enter valid credentials in the
Username
and
Password
fields.
c Click the
Save
button to save and apply the changes.

To use
TLS
authentication:
a Select
EAP TLS
from the
Protocol
list.
b Enter a valid user account in the
Username
field.
