CHARGING PROCEDURES
1. Verify the ICE/OFF/CLEAN toggle switch is in the
OFF position.
2. Close the vacuum pump valve and the low side
manifold gauge valve.
3. Open the refrigerant cylinder and add the proper
refrigerant charge (shown on nameplate) into the
system high side (receiver service valve and
discharge line shut-off valve).
4. If the high side does not take the entire charge,
close the high side on the manifold gauge set. Start
the ice machine and add the remaining charge
through valves on back of ice making head, or
through valves on suction filter, not through low side
service port on condenser, as it connects directly
into compressor. Compressor damage can result.
5. Ensure all refrigerant in the charging hoses is
drawn into the low side of the system, then
disconnect the manifold gauges.
6. Run the ice machine in the Freeze cycle.
7. Close the receiver service valve in the ice machine
head section.
8. Disconnect the manifold gauge set from the liquid
line shut-off valve.
9. Open the high and low side valves on the manifold
gauge set. Any refrigerant in the lines will be pulled
into the low side of the system.
10. Allow the pressures to equalize while the ice
machine is in the Freeze cycle.
11. Disconnect the manifold gauge set from the suction
line shut-off valve.
12. Install and torque all valve caps
NOTE:
Check for refrigerant leaks after all valve caps
have been installed.
