STACKER DECOMMISSIONING AND DISPOSAL
DECOMMISSIONING
The operator must remove the stacker from service under the following conditions :
• Immediately an anomaly is detected in the operation of the machine,
• The moment the condition of the machine no longer allows safe working (cracks or deformations in the fork arms,
wheels in poor condition, tool in poor condition, etc .),
• Safety devices are missing or not working,
• The regulatory markings on the machine are no longer legible,
• If there are unauthorised persons within the danger zone (1 .5 times the maximum stacker lift height),
• The moment the traffic conditions prevent safe working (slippery floor, congested circulation aisles, etc .) .
The operator must then shut down the stacker in accordance with the instructions given in paragraph G “Shutting-down
the stacker” in the section “INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE, LADEN AND UNLADEN” and inform the line manager of the reasons having
led to the machine being taken out of service .
The machine can only be restarted once the causes for its withdrawal from service have been eliminated .
DISPOSAL
When the machine is such a poor state of repair that it is liable to present a hazard, the user must permanently remove it from
service . Removed parts and drained products must be disposed of in accordance with the currently applicable environmental
protection decrees .
