Integrated bed extension
Beds that are factory fitted with an integrated bed extension
(optional) can be extended by up to 20 cm without the need
for tools. In this case, the existing side rails must be replaced
with full length side rails.
The bed can be extended manually in three simple steps by
means of two locking bolts at the lower foot end:
1. Pull both locking bolts upwards and turn them to the
right until they click into position. The bed extension is
unlocked.
2. Take hold under the end of the bed and carefully pull
out the bed extension approx. 10–20 cm.
3. Turn the locking bolts back to their original position.
Carefully push the bed extension back until the mecha-
nism locks into place.
With a 20 cm extension, the use of a mattress insert
(accessory) is required. The bed extension must first be
pulled out as far as it will go. After positioning the in-
sert, proceed as described in point 3.
Caution! The reclining surface extension
should only be activated by authorised spe-
cialist staff.
Caution! For safety reasons, it is essential to
replace the existing safety elements and at-
tachments when activating the reclining sur-
face extension with full length side rails.
